Engineers withouth Borders (EWB) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for impoverished communities through the implementation of environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects. EWB-USA connects student chapters commited long term with communities to help them with their engineering needs. Projects completed by student chapters include: Sustainable Water Technologies (Santisuk, Thailand), Drinkable Water and Micro Irrigation(Yoro District, Honduras), Electrical System Development (Orissa, India).
Drexel's Chapter will begin working with Rowan University's EWB chapter to learn the ropes of travel planning, site assessment and project implementation.

These are students from United States Universities that tale their time and their knowledge out into the third world to try to make a difference and to help those with greater needs. It would be great if other universities around the world would start these programs, I am sure very soon the Earth would be a better place to live and people would be happier.
